Kirk was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, but from my earliest memories of trips to Aunt Opal and Uncle Horace’s farm in Prosper or our friend's horse farm in Lancaster, He knew he was a country boy at heart. After high school graduation, Kirk moved to Waco to attend Baylor University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geology. After a short stint in the Oil and Gas industry, he joined the United States Navy and went to flight school to achieve his lifelong dream of learning to fly. Captain Kirks' next stop was back to Dallas, where he spent 25 years flying for Southwest Airlines until his retirement in August 2020.
It was during my Baylor years that he was introduced to Bosque County through a Waco doctor he worked for doing odd jobs on his ranch outside of Clifton, Texas. One trip to the ranch and he was hooked!! Kirk knew where he wanted to live and raise his family…so, in 1996, following his “country boy” yearnings, he and his wife (of 34 years) moved their growing family out of the metroplex and down South to the beautiful hills of Bosque County. For the last 26 years, they have made Bosque County our home, where they raised and homeschooled their seven children, and now sent them all out into the world to make it a better place… making him and his wife “empty nesters”! Kirk and Genanne both were involved with our children serving with the local 4-H and Boy Scouts. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for two ministries, B.A.S.I.C. Training in Hardin, KY, and FCA Football – Midwest, based in Osage Beach, MO.
After all those years at home, educating their kiddos and preparing them for the world, Genanne now spends most of her “free time” running around the country, visiting their kids and their families (seven grandkids and growing) …because “they need Mama G’s help”!!??
As for Kirk, after some time off, he is on to his next adventure…joining the Team at Twin Bends Realty! He always dreamed of living the “country life” and was blessed with the opportunity and ability to make that happen. Now, as a member of the Twin Bends Realty Team, he can help others achieve that dream! Understanding the needs of families living in a rural setting, as well as those desiring both farm/ranch and recreational properties, Kirk would appreciate the opportunity to help you realize your dream…no matter how big or small.
